About our club:
Kairos is a parent-led, competitive speech and debate club located in Tucson, Arizona. We were officially founded in the summer prior to the 2014-2015 season, with about fifteen students attending a summer speech class. We were formed from the small club known as T^3, Teens Transformed for Truth, when the leaders of that group came together with our current head coaches and a vision to help the aspiring young speakers of the homeschool community learn to communicate effectively for God's glory. The board members are so excited to see competitive forensics grow in Arizona, and are ready and willing to sacrifice their spare time for this activity!
We are also thrilled to be able to communicate with the coaches of other large clubs to collaborate techniques and ideas. Kairos is proud to offer information and coaching for the twelve different speech events and three debate styles, as well as a junior's division for those under twelve years of age, so there are no restrictions on what events your student can try!
The name Kairos was chosen for our club because it means "the perfect, delicate, crucial moment; the rightness of time and place that creates the opportune atmosphere for action, words, and/or movement." It is a word of Greek origin, so it suits the name of the league we compete under. We believe that this name is very fitting for a club that is dedicated to helping students learn how to speak properly and effectively.
